It had been several months in the downfall of Apocalypse and Liz still wasn't completely over what had happened. Her sight had long since returned, but every now and then she liked to retreat to the darkness. At that moment, she was sitting in front of the TV, her eyes closed with some History Channel special about Atlantis blaring.

Kitty was walking throughout the hallways of the mansion with Lockheed, her dragon, following in close flight when she overheard the TV in the living room... from upstairs. She descended the stairs and walked into the living room in darkness. She flicked on the light switch to see Liz watching TV, or was she? Kitty noticed her eyes closed, but the TV on. Was she sleeping? She looked to Lockheed who also seemed confused, apparently Liz was still awake. Kitty walked in the room a little more. First she waved her hand in front of Liz's face. No movement.
Kitty: Uh Liz? You awake?

The girl's hand flew out and took a light hold of kitty's and a small smile graced her lips, "You know zat I like ze darkness Kitty. It helps me calm down." She opened her bright red eyes and looked up at her teammate. She let go of Kitty's hand, scooted over, and looked up at the other mutant, "You look like you have somezing on your mind. Are you ok?"

Kitty took the seat next to Liz on the sofa. Lockheed took the armrest next to Kitty.
Kitty: I've been better... I think we all have. It's just that I think the last couple of months may have affected some more than others.

"Yeah..." The red eyes dulled a little bit, but Liz took a deep breath and smiled softly, "I guess vonce ve get some fresh blood onto ze team, things vill get better." They had lost so much, but the new leader had learned that more would come.

Kitty nods up her head and smiles slightly.
Kitty: Yeah, I suppose so.
Everyone here has been through a lot over the year, but nothing has affected them more than their last battle months ago. Kitty thought of Christina, their youngest member, in particular. The girl was not yet 21, and already she had experienced death. For herself and for close friends. Kitty hoped that things would get easier, for her especially.

Liz didn't need to be telepathic to know why the phaser was thinking about. It was the person Kitty was closest to in the mansion, "You are thinking of Christina aren't you? I am surprised she had kept her sanity zrough all of zis." She looked out of the room's entrance, "I don't know vhat I vould have done if I had been in her place..."

Kitty: Yeah... These past few months she hardly comes out her room. And whenever she's not in her room, she's down in the subbasement. She keeps to herself more often now, doesn't talk much either.

"She vill come around... I hope." Yeah Christina had been spending a lot of time in the Danger room and she wouldn't even eat with what remained of the team. She would come downstairs, grab a plate then go back up to her room. Liz shrugged, "At least she talks to you. She won't even look me in the eyes, but then again... My eyes must give her nightmares about Nur..." The teleporters eyes were now the color of the ancient mutant that had killed the young girl.

The teleporter gave Kitty an unsure look, "I might make it vorse. Vhat if I make it vorse?" She was scared about hurting the young girl. But she knew that the other girl was right. Liz sighed, "You're right. I don't think she'll talk to me though..."

Kitty knew Liz was scared. She smiled reassuring at Liz.
Kitty: I think she will. But if you're still uncertain, I'll come with you to talk to her.

She shook her head, black hair falling in front of her face, "Nein. I vill be fine. I vill call if I need some vone." She stood and walked to the door before turning back to Kitty, "She ist in her room or down below?"

"Danke. I vill see you later zen." She smiled at the phaser and headed to the elevator in her office that would take her down to the lower levels.
