The boy thought about it for a bit. Then he said a bit shyly, "Um... What happened down there in the mansion? I mean... I don't really remember anything that was going around me... 'Cept that there was something blocking us form you guys."

Shadowcat: Yes, it's me. You're going to be okay. Just take it easy.
Kitty checked Jack's injury. It definitely required medical attention quickly, but with Jack being responsive, he would live. Kitty turned towards the opening in the roof and called out to the others still downstairs.
Shadowcat: Jack's up here! He's alive!

Christina thought about what to say. She remembered the secret that she held from the others about allowing Pyschonaut to use Cerebro to find his mother. She figured that it would be best to keep her promise to him.
Christina: Well, I was fighting against one of the Sovereigns, codenamed Pyschonaut. He was attacking Storm trying to gain access to Cerebro, a machine that enhances pyschic powers. We tried to stop him, but he got whatever it was he was looking for. I'm not sure what happened upstairs but it wasn't good if it got Emily kidnapped and you really hurt.

Pavati heard the cry and used the water from the broken pipes to form a spiral around her that carried her to the roof. She ran to the couple and sat down beside them, uncorking a vile of water as she did. She pulled the water out and held it between her hands, allowing it to form a side-ways figure-8. As she lowered the water to Jack's chest, it smoothed out and began to glow as Pavati started to heal him. She opened her eyes and they too were glowing a soft blue.

(Jack could feel the effects of Pavati's healing powers working. He tried opening his eyes again. His vision had started to return to its normal state. He looked at Kitty and Pavati and gave them a thumbs up, showing them that he was feeling better. Jack looked at the nighttime sky and allowed his mind to roam free, as Pavati continued to heal him. Meanwhile back at Sara's office, Veronica walked over to Sara's computer. After checking it, she discovered it was still intact. She could now use it to locate all the Sovereign hideouts. "Many lives might have been lost, but this has to make up for it." she thought to herself.)

Keiy nodded. It made sense in his mind. "I got so badly hurt because I was afraid to hurt." He said with a half-hearted laugh. Keiy looked at his armored torso. "How many bullets did I take?" He wondered aloud.

Pavati took the water and replaced it in its vial. She looked down at him and then up at Kitty, a nervous smile on her face, "I've done the best I could. He has a couple of broken ribs, but I can't fix that. Only time can in his situation."

Kitty held a relieved and genunine small smile when Jack gave the thumbs up and news of Pavati's healing. She looked to Pavati.
Shadowcat: Thank you for your help. We'll get him back to the mansion to rest and take care of those ribs.

Pavati clutched at her chest and shook her head, "I don't think I can make it back to the mansion. Somethings wrong with me." She looked up at Kitty, her irises larger, taking up most, if not all, of the white of her eyes. She felt that thing inside her start to struggle again.

Kitty's concern grew when she noticed the change in the size of Pavati's irises.

Pavati shook her head, "I don't know. Tomorrow I turn 20. I really hope that this isn't what I think it is." She lowered her head and looked down at Jack, "I think we need to get back to city hall. I need to be put in a containment cell and fast."

(Jack looked at Pavati and nodded without question. He stood up and used the energy he had left to keep his rips intact; to prevent them from puncturing his lungs. Jack turned to Kitty.)
Mindcontrol: Kitty, take Pavati and Veronica to the police station. I'll only slow you down, so leave me behind.

Kitty wasn't sure what was going on, but apparently Jack did. So she simply nodded.
Shadowcat: Okay. But if you need help, Christina and Keiy are waiting in the X-jet. Just contact them.
Kitty turned to Pavati and began to lead her back downstairs.
Shadowcat: Come on, let's go.

Pavati looked at Kitty with her wolfish eyes, "I'm sorry that this is happening... but are you sure that it's safe to leave him here?" She was worried that Sara might start using her fire again.
