New Revelations

[Mindcontrol]

(The elevator doors opened, revealing Liz's office. Since the other elevators had been destroyed, they had no choice, but to use the one if the front office. Jack had to investigate that later. He looked at Christina and Elijah.)

Mindcontrol: Christina, go take the boy and Nadja siblings to the living room and let them watch TV. That should keep them occupied long enough for our talk. Also bring Nadja here. We need to let her know who we are.

[Oracle]

Christina: Okay, sure. Come on, Elijah.

Christina put her arm around the small boy's shoulder and led him out of the office and off to find his siblings.

[Mindcontrol]

(Once Christina left the room, Jack walked over to Liz's desk. He looked at the chair and slowly sat down. Jack placed his hands on the desk and starred at the door, waiting for Christina to come back. As he waited, Jack got a surreal sensation when sitting on the chair that belongs to the leader of Generation Next. Years ago, when Jack was a simple resident of the house, ECKS sat in the chair. After the scarring events in Egypt, Liz sat in the chair. Now that Winterfire and the Sovereigns have returned back into his life, Jack now sat in the chair, at least for now. Jack wondered if Kitty should be the leader. Out of everyone in the house, she was the only one who deserved it more. They would have to talk later.)

Mindcontrol: Oh the times are certainly changing.

Nadja walked toward the office. She'd let Christina take care of her siblings, and was now on her way to the office, where they requested her to be. Nadja was slightly scared; what would happen? Did she or her siblings do something wrong? If only Elijah wasn't in trouble again...

She took a deep breath and knocked the door; she took a step back, and waited for an answer.

[Mindcontrol]

(Jack was fidgeting with his fingers as he waited for Christina and Nadja. He looked at the clock on the wall next to Liz's bookcase. He wondered if Kitty and the others had arrived in Los Angeles. He let of a sigh, he worried for their safety and everyone involved. The knocking on the door startled him a little. Jack looked back at the door.)

Mindcontrol: Come in.

(Jack said this with a welcoming tone. He placed his hands together on the desk, a smile on his face.)

Nadja waited for a reply, but she didn't need to wait long. A gentle voice said: Come in.

She carefully opened the door. She opened it just enough so she could enter. "Hello?" Her voice was a bit shaky, not that weird since she was scared. "C-Christina told me you wanted to talk to me?" She entered the room, and she closed the door after her.
Nadja started to play with her tail, nervously. She appeared to be afraid to look at Mindcontrol.

[Oracle]

Christina entered the room shortly after Nadja entered. She closed the door quietly and then slummed into one of the chairs in the office. She couldn't believe how tiring just walking was right now. She looked at Jack and then at Nadja. The girl was basically shaking. Christina decided to ease the tension.

Christina: It's cool. You're not in trouble or anything. Jack just wants to tell you about all that goes on here. You know, being an X-man and all?

Christina looked at Jack, prompting him to start talking to help calm her down.

[Mindcontrol]

(Jack nodded his head to confirm Christina's statement. What she said was true. Well, it was half true. She had to let Nadja know of the situation in Los Angeles as well. He looked at Nadja and continued to hold that smile.)

Mindcontrol: She's right. If you're going to be living in this house, then you have a right to know who we are. Liz was suppose to tell you all of this, but she's rather occupied at the moment.

(Jack looked down for a second, a sadden feeling overtaking him. He quickly looked up and shook the feeling, as to not arise any suspicion.)

Mindcontrol: Nadja, please take a seat and let me explain myself further.

(Jack gestured his hand to the chair next to Christina.)

Christina: It's cool. You're not in trouble or anything. Jack just wants to tell you about all that goes on here. You know, being an X-man and all?
Nadja relaxed, no trouble. That was a relief. She let go of her tail.
Mindcontrol: She's right. If you're going to be living in this house, then you have a right to know who we are. Liz was suppose to tell you all of this, but she's rather occupied at the moment.
She slightly flinched, feeling a emotion that wasn't hers. Sadness? she wasn't sure, neither over who owned it. As quick as she sensed it, as quickly she couldn't sense it.

Nadja sat down in the chair Mindcontrol gestured too.
She was often annoyed with chairs, due of her tail. How do you sit with something like that? Nadja choose a way that worked with revealing to much: One leg over the other, allowing her tail to lay on the spot where her leg should have been.

Once she sat down, she looked at MindControl, wondering about what he would say.

[Mindcontrol]

(Jack was collecting all of his thoughts as he waited for Nadja to sit down. When she lifted her leg, Jack raised his head so that he won't be rudely staring at Nadja. Once she completely sat down, Jack cleared his throat and looked directly at the girl.)

Mindcontrol: Yes, well, as Christina has already mentioned, we are the X-men. We are group of mutants band together to maintain prosperity between all humans and mutants. Whenever there is a danger that threats either side, you can expect that we'll be there. To put it simply, we are superheroes.

(Jack stopped and waited for any reaction from Nadja, either from a question or change of expression.)

Nadja had calmed down at his words. She found his voice soothing. The first thing he said wasn't unknown to her. The second part. Well, that was a different story. She was one of the X-men now... Her look was one that had hesitation written all over it.
"So ... I have to go ... safe people?"
Not that she didn't want to... But with her powers not under full control, she dough-ed she could do something useful for anyone.

[Mindcontrol]

(Jack quickly caught the hesitation in Nadja's words. He continued to clarify Nadja's confusion.)

Mindcontrol: Not necessarily. We are not going to force you to join the X-men as a way to pay for your stay here at the mansion. So, don't stress about the responsibility of saving people just yet. In fact, It seems like you have enough responsibilities taking care of your siblings.

(The smile on Jack's face was now gone. It was replaced with a serious expression.)

Mindcontrol: Nadja, You are free to live in this mansion for as long as you want. You are also free to decide when you think you are ready to become a member. However, I must warn you, we don't freely accept everyone. If you do decide to join, you'll have to pass numerous evaluations before we even consider you fit to join the team.

Nadja nodded. She relaxed a bit more, now she knew she wasn't going to be in any kind of danger any time soon. Then again, a part of her wanted to do that.

Nadja, You are free to live in this mansion for as long as you want. You are also free to decide when you think you are ready to become a member. However, I must warn you, we don't freely accept everyone. If you do decide to join, you'll have to pass numerous evaluations before we even consider you fit to join the team.

She looked at Christina and then back to Mindcontrol, giving both of them a rather weak smile. "Thank you." Wondering if she should ask, she decide to risk it. "About our .... powers. Do we train them here? ... In.. the mansion? Me and ... my siblings? .. Ur, or are the trainings only for ... X-men?" She had always hid them... But a part of her wanted to learn to use them.

[Mindcontrol]

(Jack could sense that she was relaxing, that was always a good sign.)

Mindcontrol: Yes, we do have a place for you to train and expand your powers safely. To answer your other question, no, you don't have to be a member of this team to use it. You and your siblings are free to train and expand your powers whenever you want. We have a special training area called the Danger Room downstairs. If you want, I'm happy to show you and your siblings later. However, you do need one of the X-men to supervise while you're training. Preferably Kitty or myself. We don't want anything wrong to happen to you or God forbid your siblings.

Nadja sat thinking. It sounded like there where no downsides, only upsides. she was a bit shy to ask.
"A-and further?" She looked down on the desk before Mindcontrol.
