The van was making good time on the road to L.A. Jack decided it was time to check on the triplets. He reached under the center armrest and pulled up a handle that opened the secret door to the back. He walked back to them and sat down on one of the empty seats. "You kids want anything to drink?" He asked.

(The triplets were taken back by Jack's kindness. Most of their bosses, Winterfire, Count, and Marcus to name a few were never the nicest of characters. So a nice gesture by Jack was really something and that's why they were surprised. Alex smiled and was the first to answer Jack.)
Alex: Sure, I could really go for a soda right now. Preferably a Sprite.
Nick: I'll have some water.
James: Make that two waters.
Alex: So what's the plan?

Jack got up and grabbed a couple of bottles from a cabinet built into the wall of the truck. "I really don't know." Jack said letting out a sigh. "Ya' see, Marcus usually goes by ear. He responds to a situation entirely based off of what is needed. Its sorta like physics. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Marcus is the cause of the reaction." He hands out the drinks and continues "Does that make any sense?"

Alex: Yeah it does. Let's just hope that Marcus's spontaneous thinking will make this mission a success.
(The heat inside the van was unbearable and the moment they were handed the bottles, they instantly opened them. They all took sips from their cold refreshments. Each one let out a satisfying "ahh" after they had removed their lips form the bottle's lid.)
Nick: So how long until we get to L.A?
(He asked, not because of his concern with the mission, but because he desired to get out of the hot van as soon as possible.)

The radio let out a sting of beeps that could be translated into morris code. "Hmm. Acording to the radio. In ten to twenty minutes depending on the trafic." Jack responded, "So got a plan?" Marcus mind was not all there. He suceeded in beating Keiy. Yet he couldn't bring himself to kill the half demon himself. He had to leave it to the self destruct system. He sighed inwardly, then, realising that he was being talked to he looked up and responded with "I was thinking that we play it by ear."

The van pulled drove past the police station and parked in a lot just past it. "Well here we are." Jack said, "What now, Boss?" He laid extra empasis on the word boss. "Oh I was thinking that we go in the front door." Marcus replied.

(James had a dumbfounded look was on his face upon hearing his so called plan. He turned to Marcus.)
James: Marcus, you might have forgotten that we are not bullet proof. The moment we got in, they will be firing at us.
(Nick looked at James.)
Nick: James, there's nothing really wrong with his plan. I mean, all I have to do is make us invisible and then we can just simply walk through the door. Its actually the perfect plan.
(Alex crossed his arms and kept his eyes closed as he addressed everyone.)
Alex: I agree with Nick. We'll go invisible, go in and get out the same manner. Let's just hope we all manage to make it out.

Marcus shrugged. Then an idea came to him. "Well at least one of us have to go in normal, so I nominate... Jack." The shifter said and immediately Jack began to protest. "Just because you forced me into this doesn't mean that I have to get all the dangerous jobs!" The cyborg yelled. "Actually its just the opposite. Because you are a technopath you can just ask all of the nice little computers to not reconise you." Marcus replied. Jack opened his mouth several times while searching for another good objection but couldn't think of one. Marcus had a cunning smile on his face when he knew that he had Jack cornered. "Well now that we have that out of the way, are all of you guys ready?" The shifter asked.

(The triplets looked at one another. The three of them nodded as they looked at each other, checking to see that they were ready. The expressions on their faces also assured their confidence. After that, they all stood up and turned to Marcus.)
Alex: Its now or never.
(James walked over to the door and opened it. All three of them jumped out of the van. They stood there waiting for Marcus to lead them.)

Marcus smiled to himself. He loved power. and he loved messing with the police. He pivoted on his heel and walked to the door. As he held it open for Jack, Marcus looked back and noticed that the triplets where completely invisible. "This had better work." Jack growled under his breath. "Don't worry it will." Marcus replied smiling with pride.
Jack was less certain. <This isn't going to work> He kept thinking to himself. But none the less he walked up to the front desk. He was also sending out a signal through one of his cybernetic parts begging the computers not to recognize him and the alarms not to go off. The main lobby was rather empty. Jack watched as Marcus found a seat, his left ear constantly twitching and his nostrils flaring to catch a hint of the triplets and where they where. Jack sighed inwardly as he turned back to the desk his mind racing to find out what to say as an excuse to open the door, but his mind realized something, he didn't need to get back there only the triplets and Marcus had to go back there. "I was wondering if you could tell me some stuff about the police force."Jack said. "Ya see my son wants to join but I want some information for myself." He said with a gesture in Marcus's direction.

(Now invisible, thanks to the mutant talents of Nick, the triplets easily made their way to the hallway behind the main lobby. They continued walking, carefully tip-toeing so that no one would hear them. Being completely undetected gave the triplets a feeling of confidence, almost like they were invincible. However, it only took a few moments for the triplets to realize that they had no clue where the cells were located.)
Alex: Do any of you know how to get to the cells?
(Alex asked both his brothers, in a very quiet voice so that their position would not be given away. James responded to Alex in the same quiet tone.)
James: No, do you Nick?
Nick: Absolutely no idea. We'll just have to keep looking.
Alex: What about Marcus?
James: He'll trace our scent and find us in no time. Let's just keep looking and find this cell.

The policeman behind the desk and Jack where talking for a couple of minutes. When Marcus butted in, asking "What of the high security area? " Then seeing both of their blank expression, he asked another question."Well arn' t there super powered mutants here?" "Well yeah. But none of them can get out." The officer replied. "Still, if I am going to be working here in a couple of years, I at least want to know that nothing can get out. Is there anyway that we can see them." Marcus asked politely. If anyone had knew the changer before this mission and was seeing this they would be in complete shock. Jack on the other hand knew better. He knew that Marcus was just acting to get what he wants. At once Jack suppressed a shiver at how dangerous Marcus could be. "Well... Ok. But only from the watch area that we place our guards. That is as close as you can get, and it should show you that we have maximum security at all times." The officer called up a different police man and told them the situation and asked the man to give a tour to Marcus and Jack. They walked back behind the door that would have stood in their way, and instantly Jack knew that he was stuck in the middle of the action once again. Before they got to the security area there was a metal detector that they had to go through. Jack asked it to not to detect the metal that both he and Marcus can never rid them selves of. Their conversation went something like this. <Can you please not go off for the two of us?> why? <Because we really need to get back there> why? <Our friends are back there> why? <Just do it!> ....Why? By this time they had reached the metal detector. And when they went under the metal detector, it didn't go off. Right before they went through the next door the metal detector said Thanks for the company! Jack decided that they had walked with their guide for long enough and froze the cameras, switched his right hand into a short range tazer, and shocked the guard in the back. Marcus cocked an eyebrow from Jack's actions. Jack moved to the door and told it to lock down just this door. It took a couple of minutes but eventually it agreed. "These mechs are very loyal." He said to Marcus. To this Marcus just smiled. "Well now. lets continue. After all the triplets are out there and their sent is getting cold." Marcus said casually. "By the way. How did they get past the metal detector?" Jack asked. "Climbed over it I suppose." Marcus replied. They left the room to try to find the triplets and their target.

(The triplets continued in their search for the jail cells and the possibly of finding any Sovereign agents. Alex was leading his brother further into the building. Nick was walking behind Alex, focused his powers on keeping everyone invisible. James was behind Nick, ready to attack anyone if Nick's powers failed. Every time a police officer would pass by the triplets, they would stop and hold their breathes, then continue on. They finally reached a metallic door with a keypad on the side. Alex went toward the door and looked through one of the small windows. He looked back at his brothers and gave them a thumbs up.)
Alex: This looks like the place. Alright stand back guys, I'm going to bust this door open.
(Alex began cracking his knuckles and extended his arm back, ready to punch it open. Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Alex turned and it was James who had prevented him from smashing the door open.)
James: That won't work. So don't even try.
Alex: What are you talking about?
James: I don't think that's a good idea. I don't even think you with all your awesome strength can break that door down.
Alex: Are you calling me weak!? This is no time to be acting like a smartass.
James: Think about it for a second. This cell was built to hold mutants, the baddest of the bad. These cops wouldn't have built a special cell just for mutants if they knew it could easily be broken into. And even if you could smash the door open, you will possibly trigger the alarm system.
Nick: That actually makes a lot of sense.
Alex: So what now?
James: Right now we should wait for Marcus and Jack. Jack could easily open it with no trouble. That way we don't have to worry about any alarms going off.
(Nick looked up and noticed there was a camera right above them. He started at it and observed that the camera was trying to focus on them.)
Nick: I don't think we have to worry about the alarms going off because I think they already have...

(The commissioner was sitting in her comfortable chair behind her desk. In one hand was a cup of coffee, one of the things that helped start her day on a positive note. On her other hand was a pen which she used to get her paper work done. Doing paper work kept her in a good mood, as long as no one interrupted her. She stopped writing her report about the attack on the Sovereigns' headquarters and looked up. There was a knock on the door and suddenly Veronica had the strangest feeling in her stomach.)
Com. Oros: Come in and it better be important.
(The door swung right open and four officers came rushing in. Once they were inside, they closed the door and locked it. Veronica quickly got on her feet, accidentally spilling some of her coffee on her work.)
Com. Oros: What is going on?!
(One of the officers stepped forward.)
Officer: We just got word from our security staff. It seems there are intruders inside the building. Worst of all, they are mutants.
Com. Oros: What!?
Officer: Our security staff has caught images of three figures inside the building. They are currently invisible, but the infrared technology in our cameras has caught them on video. Not only that, two of our officers are out cold. This was caused by two other dangerous mutants.
Com. Oros: Do we know who these mutants are or what their objective is?
Officer: At the moment we do not. Intelligence believes that they might have a connection to do with the Sovereigns. Its probable that they have come here to enact revenge on everyone here. We have been sent here to protect you from these mutants. Right now we have to escort you out of this building and to relocate you to a safe location.
(Veronica placed her coffee cup and pen on the paper work that was now ruined. She walked around so that now she was standing in front of her desk.)
Com. Oros: If you think you're going to "protect" me from these mutants, then you are truly blind to what they are capable of. So just focus on what you can do best at the moment. I'm issuing a Red alert, effective immediately. I want all of you to begin evacuating the building. Get everyone out. Then institute a perimeter around the building. Feel free to get in contact with the military. We are not letting these mutant criminals get away.
(Veronica walked toward the door and past the officers. One of them turned to her with a dumbfounded expression.)
Officer: Wait, where are you going?
(Veronica opened the door and rushed out without saying a word to her officers.)

Jack and Marcus where following the trail of the triplets when Jack suddenly stopped. Marcus looked back in confusion. "What are you waiting for?" The shifter asked. "We are in for some trouble." The technopath replied. Marcus froze. "Well we knew that it was going to happen eventually. Just not so soon." He said. Marcus, then changed to his anthro form to protect himself. Jack kept quiet as this happened, content to wait and follow than to lead. When Marcus had finished they continued to rush down he hallways. "Have you ever wondered if all this is predestined? Or if everything is controlled by some one higher up?" Marcus asked. "Every time." Jack replied. They turned a corner and came face to face with an armed police officer. "Halt!" Said the officer. "Halt?" Marcus inquired, "and people call me old fashioned." Both Jack and Marcus proceeded to approach the officer, who was sacred out of his wits. "Don't hurt him to badly." Jack said and stopped moving toward the policeman. "Stay where you are!" The policeman ordered, but Marcus rushed the man and punched him across the face leaving cuts where his metallic fur made contact with the person's face. Then Marcus pinched a nerve on the officer's neck and knocked him out cold. "That nice enough for ya'?" Marcus replied.
