The doors to Cerebro opened before her as she stepped inside. The lights along the bridge flickered on as Christina walked towards the station, and the doors closed behind her. She grabbed the helmet and looked at it closely. It was really weird looking; she would probably laugh at herself if she ever looked into a mirror with it on. But if it worked, it would serve her purpose. She looked at the module and located the intecom system that Liz had told her to use if she needed assistance. Christina knew Liz was right; she wasn't ready to use this yet. But she had to know the truth. She took another deep breath to push aside her doubts and calm her nerves. She placed the helmet onto her head, closed her eyes, and concentrated on the memory of her vision.
Why? Who was that? Why kill my dad?

Instantly it felt as though Christina’s skull was ripping apart. She brought her hands to the helmet in an instinct to rip it off her head; however, she forced herself to hold the helmet in place as she traveled back to her vision. The pictures were so much clearer that it was almost like seeing them for the first time again. The good-bye to her father, when her eyes first glow violet. Cerebro brought her outside to her father’s vehicle. Underneath the axel was a device, held magnetically. This was what caused the tire blow-out. God, her skull was on fire, but she fast-forwarded on. Next, her father driving the car. About a mile behind him, another car. She sees the remote control. The driver of the other car waits for an oncoming vehicle. He sees the trucker and activates the device. The tire blow-out on her father’s car occurs. Damn, this migraine was rendering Christina to tears, but she gritted her teeth and continued. Finally, the crash neither vehicle could avoid. The driver of the other car arrives on the scene and pulls over to the side of the road. The murderer exits; she can see his face. Brown hair, strong jawline, deep sunken eyes. He runs over to the crash. He bends down and grabs the device from underneath the car. He looks up into Christian Collins’s face, slightly startled. He turns around and runs back to his car. Christina groaned and gripped the helmet until her knuckles turned white.
This is it. Just a little more.
Christian Collins’s final words rang clear as a bell. “Gr-Gray…don… Cr-Creed.” Her father’s last breath echoed in her mind, as Christina let out a piercing scream. The pain finally too much to handle, and she threw the helmet off her head. She collapsed onto the bridge as her head continued to throb and threatened to rip her skull in half. Christina desperately tried to hold together her splitting head with one hand as she lifted the other and pressed the intercom system.
Christina: LIZ! Help…
Her hand became limp as her final tears fell, and Christina faded to unconsciousness right in front of the Cerebro module.

Liz knelt in front of the eye scanner and changed her eyes back to their normal form. The scanner read her retina and opened the door. The scared leader scrambled into the room and knelt down beside her comrade, "Christina. Christina! Please wake up. You need to stay awake!" She shook the girl, praying that the machine had not too terrible hurt her friend.

Christina never responded. Her mind was a scrambled mess from her use with Cerebro. She couldn't even hear Liz calling her. Her body didn't respond to Liz when she shook her. She fell deeper into a coma to help repair the damage she had done.

Liz calmed herself down and put her hand in Christina's temple. Slowly, she pushed in her friend's mind. She knew that she had a limited time before the girl was lost to her mind for good. Internally she was beating herself up for not stopping the seer, but she never though he would actually try to use the machine. After some searching, she found the Astral form of the brunette huddled down under a wide tree. She approached with caution, "Christina? Please answer me."

Within her mind, Christina sat under the shade of a tree, keeping to the dark. She had her knees into her chest with her arms wrapped around them. She kept her head down while she cried. She thought she was alone until she heard Liz talking to her. She didn't look up, but tried to bury her head further into herself while she continued to weep.
Christina: Go away...

Christina: NO! GO AWAY!
Christina stood up and jumped to grab a low tree branch. She pulled herself up and proceeded to climb up the tree to get distance between her and Liz. She sat on one of the higher branches with her legs hanging off either side. She rested her back against the trunk as she folded her arms across her chest and closed her eyes.

Liz looked up at the frightened girl, but put her hands on her hips and sighed deeply. It looked like it was going to be a chase game
"So you vant to do zis ze hard vay?" Liz shook her head and teleported to the branch above Christina. She hung upside-down by her tail, but facing the brunette, "You forget zat I still have all powers even in ze astral realm." Her dark eyes took a pleading look, "Please Christina... I can't lose you. Come back vith me und I promise to help you with what you found out in there... vhatever zat may be."

Christina looked at Liz with her tear-filled eyes. She closed her eyes again, lowered her head, and cried more. As she cried she swung her left leg around and turned to face the side. She looked out past the tree limbs and stared out in the darkness. Outside of the tree was reality with all of its hardships. She couldn't handle all the stress she was under the past few days, especially that morning with her vision revealed. But she couldn't do anything about it in here. She looked back at Liz for a slight second before biting her lip and silently nodding her head.

Liz exhaled slowly and lowered herself down to sit beside the frightened seer. She put her arms around her friends and hugged her softly as she slowly pulled them back out of Christina's mind.
Back in the physical world, Liz brought Christina's head into her lap and softly stroked the girl's brown hair as she came back around.

Christina cried deeply when Liz embraced her. Just before Liz disappeared from her mind, Christina looked past the tree limbs and saw a sunrise appearing. As the darkness cleared, Christina could see white wildflowers covering the ground. But then her mind's world disappeared.
Christina moaned as she slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry at first until her eyes adjusted to Liz overhead. She closed her eyes again and moaned. Her head was still hurting.
Christina: Uhhhhhhhhhh, ok... You were right.... Definitely not ready......

Tears were streaming down Liz's face as she lightly slapped Christina's face, "Don't you ever scare me like zat again. I can't lose anozer friend." She smiled softly and shook her dark head, "I'm going to take you to ze infirmary before I get back to Sara. After you get some rest, I vill help you, ok?"

Christina turned her head to the side when Liz lightly slapped her. Okay, yeah... she deserved to get slapped harder. She lightly nodded her head when Liz told her that she was going to take her to the infirmary and immediately regreted moving her head that much.

Liz smiled softly and gently picked the girl up from the floor. She held her close as the teleported out of the room and down the hall to the infirmary.
