Real Name: Angel Hale
Mutant Name: -none so far- although ”Umi” was her father’s nickname for her, finding her motions and activities as “fluid as water”.
Height and Weight: 5’7” at 126 lbs
Physical Description: Purple skin that varies in shade (for instance, the skin on her wings is a lighter shade than on her body), a serpent-like tail, large bat-like wings that grow from the back portion of her shoulder blades, elf-like coned ears, short (mid-back of the neck long) dark-blond hair, crystalline-blue cat-like eyes (the pupil reacts the way a cat’s would), fangs, talons (three talons and a dew claw to each foot, walks on the balls of her feet in a semi-crouch if she goes two-legged), claws (three claws and a thumb to each hand), on her left shoulder is the tattoo “X-8”.
Mutant Powers: In short; health and/or longevity (see history), gliding (see physical description), enhanced sense of smell and sound, can see in the dark, quick reflexes.
Basic History: Wandering Minster, Crowley Hale, and Lisa Fieldstream married in June of 1764 in the still-undeveloped wilderness of the Virginia colony, bearing only one child in their course. Born an odd shade of plum, the baby girl was thought to have been still-born and was going to be burned to ash until she began to cry from the heat of the flames. Immediately, Lisa claimed the child was an unholy being and fainted, driving the thought that his wife had consorted with some darker arts in his absence home to Crowley’s heart. Despite the demonic way the infant looked, her father protected her as a secret from the world, and named her “Angel” in hopes of redeeming the infant in the eyes of the Lord, as he believed that was the only salvation possible. When she was 6 months old, her tail began to form. At age three, her wings began to grow as odd lumps under her skin until, at age five, they burst from her back, splitting the skin. The skin, sinew and blood dried to form the leathery wings. By this time, young Angel had started to travel into the woods that surrounded the house in her father’s absence, learning how to track scents and practicing leaping. She discovered that she could glide, using her wings to catch pockets of air, when she fell from a particularly high tree one afternoon. After that, she began practicing flying with every chance she could, even going so far as to leap from the house’s thatched roof. In 1776, when Angel was at the age of twelve, Crowley’s brother, Nathan, was hung for suspicion of treason. Fearing that the townspeople would come for his family (guilt by association), Crowley packed up the family’s belongings into a carriage and the trio set off deeper into unknown territory. Many years passed, and the Hale family fell prey to illness and disease. Angel watched as first her mother, then her father, fell to the illness Yellow Fever. She, herself, suffered from it, yet was amazed to find that within a week, she had regained her health and showed no signs of the fever ever striking her. It was then that she fully realized the extent of her differences from humans. Striking off on her own, she quickly picked up tricks to be shadow-like with her stealth and would steal from towns in the dead of night in order to survive. In between towns, she would hunt like an animal, running and stalking on all fours (a position she found oddly natural). Years passed by, yet she found she showed very few signs of aging. For every five decades, she might age a year. She quickly gave up trying to keep track of the times and began to live deeper and deeper into heavily wooded or, when it was impossible to escape the cities of man, abandoned areas. At one point (don’t ask her when, she doesn’t know), she was captured by a group of scientists linked with “Weapon X”, who believed that her genes held some secret that could be duplicated to make super-soldiers. She escaped eventually, but not before bearing their own particular brand of tattoo on her shoulder.
Affiliation: Neutral; generally fights only because she is attacked. However, if pressed for an all-or-nothing war, she’d side with the good guys.
...I hope that wasn't too much information...I tend to go overboard sometimes.
