Liz and Chaze landed on one of the beds in a flash of smoke and the woman started to go to work. It took over an hour to stitch his wounds and heal his ankle. It would take a while for the tendon to heal on it's own, but Liz had given it a head start. Soon, the man was wrapped and had an IV drip set up. The entire time she worked, the teleporter never said a word. An outsider would have considered it concentration, but Liz herself considered it damage. She was always like this after her encounters with Nur. Once she was done, she pulled a seat up to the side of the bed and laid her head down. In a matter of minutes, she was asleep again.

(Chaze opened his eyes. He was falling again. The fiery pit surrounding him with no escape visible. He felt as if he had been falling for years, maybe he had. The flames licked at his body, scorching his fur. As he yelled for help, a small black dot appeared at the very bottom of the chasm. It grew bigger and bigger as he continued to fall. Chaze reached for it, it was quite possibly the only escape from this endless plunge. As he did so, he felt cold steel pierce his body, he saw flashes of monitors in a foreign language. Chaze suddenly realized where he was. He reached out an arm and cried out for help, but none came. The fire came back and started to engulf him again, and there was no way to resist. Wolf called out again and snapped his eyes awake. He blinked several times and realized he was not back in Egypt. Rather, Chaze was back in one of the X-men's mansions and wrapped in gauze and bandages. He looked around to see Liz at his side and smiled weakly. Reaching out he gently stroked her head.)

Liz snapped awake and grabbed his hand and twisted it hard. She looked up and saw Chaze there, "Es tut mir leid. Verzeihen Sie mir bitte." She blinked and let go of his hand before getting up and moving to the neighboring bed.

(Chaze rubbed his wrist and frowned.)
Chaze: Glad to see you're still responsive.
(Chaze watched her make her way over to the other bed with a bit of dread and appreciation.)
Chaze: I know we've gone through hell Liz, and I can't help but feel that we're star crossed lovers, but I know why I've returned. I never died in Egypt. Not really.

Liz lowered her head in submission and she watched Chaze closely as though she was half expecting him to come at her again. She shook her head, "Nein... I-I-I saw y-y-you die. Y-You p-p-plunged in-into z-ze fire." She was so nervous that she couldn't stop her stutter.

(Chaze closed his eyes and looked away. His nightmares were hard enough, but at least those occurred when he was sleeping. Thinking of it when he wasn't asleep was somehow worse. Chaze clenched his teeth and looked back at Liz.)
Wolf: I did fall into the fiery abyss. Yes, you're right about that. But the reason I did not die, the reason I was kept alive was because of Apocalypse's regeneration chamber. That ancient and mysterious machine repaired my body, kept me alive. Yet somewhere in it there was a crack, a weak spot if you will. Every few days or weeks, the fire would reach in and mame me again. For however long, this cycle repeated itself until the machine was so damaged that it ejected me out of it and to the surface. I lived in that remote hell for what seemed like an eternity. If you ask me, death would have been better.
(Tears had started to form at the corners of Wolf's eyes and he had to look away again so as not to cry in front of Liz.)

Liz moved over to sit at the very end of Wolf's bed. She shifted to her own human form so that her eyes could show emotion better. She looked at him with pity and remorse, "I-I vish zat I knew. I-I-if I had known, Ma-maybe I c-c-could have helped." She reached out and touched his good leg, her delicate hand just barely putting pressure on the injured man. After a minute, she cleared her throat, "He ist not gone yet und he never vill be. I-I-I know zat."

(Chaze's thin face hardened as he looked at Liz. He reached out and stroked her face.)
Chaze: I can't believe that. I won't believe that. I threw him out of my mind. If I can, then I know you can. I believe in you.

Liz stared to pull away from Chaze's touch but quickly leaned into it, the tears finally back, "I am not strong. I have been trying for a vhile, but nozing vorks. Ze only reason I have not killed myself ist because I do not zink ze team needs anozer loss."

(Chaze sat up in bed, ignoring the blunt pain in his chest and back. He pulled Liz a little closer.)
Chaze: Well you're right about one thing. They don't need to lose someone as great as you. And before you didn't have me on your side, rooting for you.

Liz allowed him to hold her but she gently pushed him back down, "Bitte. You are hurt. Please rest. As for being great, zey do not know about Nur. I never let zem see zat part of me."

Chaze: Good, nothing good can come of that I suppose. Nur doesn't need to be involved with you in any case.
(Chaze sighed and glanced down.)
Chaze: I could see myself killing all of those people, I could see myself doing it and I didn't care. I somehow liked it. And it wasn't until you called out to me that I snapped out of it and remembered who I was again. You are not like him, not anyway like him. You're so much better than me, than him. I won't allow a diseased and dangerous murderer to controll someone as unique as you.

Liz held onto Chaze harder and rubbed her cheek against his chest. She still wasn't sure on how to react to the fact that the man she loved, the man she killed, was holding her and was talking to her with no anger in his voice. She cleared her throat and looked up at him, "You needed one of two things; vengeance or hearing me say zat I vas sorry. I vas ready to kill you and I may try again."

Chaze: Well that's great to hear. I love you too. But I'm not going to desert you because you have urges to kill me. Besides, I'm somehow certain I can't die. There's something strange about the way I came back. I can't place my finger on it though.

Again, the woman hugged him tightly and buried her face into his chest. For a moment she lay beside him and cried like she had the day they returned from Egypt with out him. After she was finished she looked up at him and returned to her normal form, "Ich leibe Sie Chaze."
