The Rise and Fall of Sara Jones

[Mindcontrol]

Com. Oros: I don't think that's a good idea. I think you should probably return back to your team. You need to get Winterfire to your mansion, ASAP. That fire-resistant liquid Pavti placed on her won't last long forever. Especially on someone like her.

(Veronica saw the concern in Kitty's eyes. She placed a hand on her shoulder to insure Pavati's safety.)

Com. Oros: She will be just fine. I'll have some officers keep an eye on her.

[Boom/Jade Smith]

Jade: We just came by to help. We couldn't just sit back and hope that ya would be able to handle this on ya own.

Jade said sounding a bit cold but she didn't feel the need to him the whole story, it was to long anyways. She also didn't no the man much and found it best to give little information. The other two just sat back. Jade seemed to be doing a fine job with the conversation.

[Oracle]

Christina stood up from her seat and faced Keiy.

Christina: Guess we better go check on Jack. You feel up to it?

[Shadowcat]

Kitty faced Veronica to show the seriousness in her eyes.

Shadowcat: She is placed in your responsibility. If anything happens to her...

Kitty stopped. She didn't need to further explain herself. She just turned her attention back to Pavati in the cell. Kitty knelt down to be level with her. She whispered to keep her calm.

Shadowcat: Pavati, I have to go take care of the others. You just rest and regain your strength. The commissioner here is going to watch over you while I'm away. But I'll come back, Pavati. I promise.

[Nightcat]

The wolf's ears went flat and she growled low in her throat, but made no move towards Kitty. Pavati lick her lips nervously as she looked up at the commissioner. She technically was in her own territory, having grown up in California, but still... she didn't want to be away from her new family so soon. She knew that in her current state, there was no way a transfer could happen safely.

[Shadowcat]

Shadowcat: I'm sorry.

Kitty stood up and gave her number to Veronica before she left.

Shadowcat: Let me know if there's any trouble. And thank you.

Kitty gave one last apologetic look at Pavati and then walked out of the containment room.

[M_a_K]

Keiy looked up at the girl. He gave a meek smile and stood up. His ead began to spin and his vision temporarly went green."Ugh... Headrush."He said shaking himself free of the dizzyness. "There we go." He looked o Christina. "Yeah, let's go."

[Mindcontrol]

(Jack accepted the response and smiled. Though, he couldn't help but be suspicious. He doubted that the whole reason she and the other two had helped Jack was because they were being generous. Most people masquerade themselves as good blessings. Only to stab one in the back when the opportunity is present. Jack had just found this out with what Sara told him about Count. Jack thought for a second if he was maybe being too judgmental. The idea suddenly crossed his mind that Liz should meet them and decide for herself.)

Mindcontrol: Well, thanks again. I'm part of a special all mutant team called the X-men. Fighting against those Sentinels back there, that was impressive. How's about joining our team? You'll have to talk to my leader Liz. I can't absolutely guarantee you a spot on the team, but you've shown me that you're pretty capable. What do you say?

[Oracle]

Christina stood close to Keiy, in case he still felt dizzy, as they walked out of the jet and proceeded into the building. As they walked, Christina used her X-man communicator to call Jack.

Christina: Jack, we're in the building. Where are you?

[Mindcontrol]

(Jack was just waiting for Jade's answer when he heard Christina's voice on his communicator. He grabbed it and replied to Christina.)

Mindcontrol: In Sara's office, on the top floor. Wait for me at the elevators in the main lobby. I'm on my way down.

(Jack then returned his attention back to the group.)

Mindcontrol: Come on, I'll take you to meet some of the others.

(He and the three other mutants went into the hall. Jack had some trouble walking, but one of the three mutants helped him. They entered the working elevator. Jack then pressed the button that would take them down the lobby.)

[Count/Winterfire]

(As Christina and Keiy approached the building, two officers holding Sara came up the two. Sara looked at Christina, she had that way too familiar smile on her face.)

Winterfire: Well, well, well, if it isn't Christina. So what's new with you?

[Oracle]

Christina's eyes narrowed when she was confronted with Winterfire. But then she almost smiled when she saw her in handcuffs and being escorted by the police.

Christina: Same old. Fighting for the good guys. Arresting the bad guys. You know. What about you? Seems like you're having a bad day.

[Count/Winterfire]

(Sara released a puff of fire through her nostrils.)

Winterfire: Just a mild set back. But you know me, I'm good at what I do. Escaping your little mansion will be my next test.

[Mindcontrol]

(Jack and the three other mutants got out of the elevator. Jade continued to help Jack. They made there way out of the building and toward the area where Christina and the others were located. When Jack approaced Christina and Keiy, he smiled knowing they were safe.)

Midcontrol: Its great to see you two. I heard from Shadowcat about the attack at the Xavier... Well, let's talk about it when we get back to the mansion. We need to inform Liz and figure out what happend today.

(Jack turned to the two police officers.)

Mindcontrol: You can leave her with us. Thank you.

[Oracle]

Christina allowed a small smug on her face when she saw that she saw Winterfire's reaction. However her face faltered little when she heard the news of Winterfire coming to the mansion. She would have been much happier with the police taking her far away and locking her in a maximum security prison for life without a chance of parole. She turned away from Winterfire and faced Jack with a group of new people.
